Health & Safety Regulations

In Manitoba health and safety rights are guaranteed by the Workplace Safety and Health Act and the Canada Labour Code.

Most workers are protected by the Province’s Workplace Safety and Health Act. Workers who are employed by the federal public service, federal crown corporations, or banking, transportation, communications, and grain industries are protected by the Canada Labour Code.

OHC has resources on what your rights are as a worker in Manitoba and how you can use them:

Workplace Safety and Health enforces The Workplace Safety and Health Act and its three associated regulations in order to ensure Manitoba’s workplaces are safe and healthy. They perform workplace inspections and investigate any breaches in regulation in order to reduce workplace fatalities, serious injuries and illnesses.
