Workplace Education & Services

Information into Action

Education is a part of the work that we do at the Occupational Health Centre. We try to provide you with the information and skills you need to make your workplaces safe and healthy.

People learn best when education is active, relevant, and practical. Our approach to education starts with your experiences on the job. We work with you to develop a common understanding of problems and workable plans for change.

What do we provide?

Our educational and outreach services include monthly one-hour sessions on occupational health and safety. These are free and open to anyone.

Workshops

OHC develops hands-on workshops tailored to your needs and workplace. We offer workshops on topics such as:

Outreach

We are committed to working with people that face barriers in the workplace. We have developed links with young workers, immigrant workers, and workers and employers in rural and northern Manitoba. In addition, we have developed special fact sheets and information kits for young workers, immigrant workers, and small businesses.

Building on Your Strengths

We respect the knowledge and skills of the people who are in the workplace everyday. You know your workplace best. Together, we can find the best solution.

We listen to what people tell us about their workplace. Then we explore together what can be changed to make your workplace a healthier place to work.

OHC can help you:

  • Identify health and safety issues
  • Investigate workplace problems
  • Conduct workplace-based surveys
  • Find workable solutions
  • Organize educational sessions
  • Develop in-house training programs
