Taking a critical approach to the role of technology in the labour process, this presentation will probe the present and future impacts of artificial intelligence on work and workers. It will address AI risks, such job loss and work intensification, as well as the more general economic threat posed by speculative AI investment. Last, the presentation will review several successful examples of effective AI regulation from other jurisdictions.
