Learn and Connect: A Webinar and Peer Support Session for Injured and Ill Workers and Their Allies
December 9 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us for a two-part online session designed to inform, connect, and support injured and ill workers and their allies — including those who work alongside or advocate for them.
Part 1 – Educational Webinar (10:00 – 11:00 AM)
David Popke, Workers Compensation Specialist from MGEU, will provide an overview of the legislation and policy that guide when and how the Workers Compensation Board (WCB) of Manitoba accepts responsibility for psychological injury claims.
Topics covered:
- What defines a psychological injury under WCB policy
- Why these claims are often complex
- Common reasons for denial and the steps to appeal
Part 2 – Peer Support & Dialogue (11:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Following the presentation, all are welcome to stay for an open peer support and dialogue session — a community space for injured and ill workers and their allies to come together for reflection, connection, and shared support.
Participants may attend either part or both, depending on their interests.
